Alright, so you wanna know about this Gemini Rights vinyl thing, huh? Okay, okay, I’ll tell ya what I know. It ain’t rocket science, mind you. It’s just a record, a black circle thingy that plays music. My grandkid showed me, it’s like those old things we used to have, but this one’s new-fangled, I guess.
So, this fella, Steve Lacy, he made this Gemini Rights. Sounds fancy, doesn’t it? They say it’s real popular, like everyone and their dog is listenin’ to it. My grandkid keeps hummin’ this song, “Bad Habit,” says it’s from this record. Catchy tune, gotta admit, even for an old lady like me. Keeps gettin’ stuck in my head like a fly in honey.
Now, this Gemini Rights ain’t just any old record, no sir. It’s one of them “vinyls,” they call it. Apparently, that makes it special or somethin’. My grandkid says it sounds better than those digital things, says it’s got a warmer sound. I dunno, sounds the same to me, but what do I know? I’m just used to hearin’ the birds sing and the cows moo, not this fancy music.
- This Steve Lacy guy, he sings and plays instruments, like the guitar and piano and stuff. My grandkid says he’s really good.
- And this album, Gemini Rights, it’s about breakin’ up with someone. Lord knows, I’ve been through a few of those myself. Heartache ain’t nothin’ new, that’s for sure.
- They say the record is only 35 minutes long. That ain’t much time, is it? Back in my day, we’d listen to music all night long, dancin’ and singin’ till the sun came up.
This Gemini Rights record, it came out in 2022. Not too long ago, I guess. My grandkid was all excited when it came out on vinyl. Said it was a big deal. Seems like folks like these vinyl things now. They like holdin’ somethin’ in their hands, I reckon. Reminds me of holdin’ a good book, you know? Somethin’ solid.
And they talk about this Steve Lacy bein’ nominated for a Grammy. Sounds important. Like winnin’ a blue ribbon at the county fair, I suppose. Only fancier. He’s a young fella, this Steve Lacy, but he’s got talent, that’s for sure. My grandkid says he’s part of some group called the Internet. Now, ain’t that somethin’? The internet makin’ music now. What will they think of next?
Gemini Rights, they say it’s his second album, but the first one on a big record label, RCA Records, whatever that is. Sounds like he’s movin’ up in the world, this fella. Good for him, I say. Work hard and you’ll get somewhere, that’s what I always say.
And the name, Gemini Rights? My grandkid tried to explain it to me. Somethin’ about star signs and bein’ a Gemini. And somethin’ about rights, like fightin’ for what’s fair. Sounds deep, but I don’t know much about that stuff. I just know what feels right in my heart, you know?
So, if you’re lookin’ for a new record to listen to, this Gemini Rights vinyl might be worth checkin’ out. It’s got a catchy song, folks seem to like it, and it’s on that fancy vinyl stuff. Who knows, you might even enjoy it. Even an old lady like me can tap her foot to it, so it can’t be all bad, right?
My grandkid keeps this record real careful like. Got it in a special sleeve and all. Says it’s delicate. Reminds me of them fancy china plates my mama used to have. Only for special occasions. Guess this record is special to these young folks.
Anyway, that’s all I know about this Gemini Rights vinyl. It’s a record by some fella named Steve Lacy, it’s got a song called “Bad Habit,” it’s about breakin’ up, and folks seem to really like it. If that ain’t enough for ya, well, I don’t know what else to tell ya. Go ask my grandkid, they know more about this stuff than I do.
