Okay, so I’ve been seeing these constellation necklaces everywhere, and I finally decided to make my own. Specifically, a Scorpio one, because, well, that’s my sign! I’m not gonna lie, it took a little trial and error, but it was totally worth it.
Getting Started
First, I gathered my materials. I already had some basic jewelry-making stuff, like:
- Thin chain (I went with silver, but gold would look cool too)
- Jump rings (those little circles that connect things)
- A clasp (to, you know, actually wear the necklace)
- Pliers (needle-nose are best for this kind of tiny work)
Then, I needed the Scorpio part. I found some tiny star-shaped beads and some small, round silver beads. I also grabbed a slightly larger, sparkly bead for the “main” star of the constellation. I guess you could use anything, really, as long as it fits the vibe.
Putting It All Together
This was the tricky part. I laid out my chain and started figuring out where I wanted the stars to go. I basically looked at a picture of the Scorpio constellation online and tried to copy it. It’s not perfect, but hey, it’s handmade!
I used the jump rings to attach the beads to the chain. This is where the pliers come in handy – you have to open and close the jump rings to get them around the chain and the beads. My fingers got a little sore, not gonna lie.
I connected the stars in a sort of curved line, with the bigger, sparkly bead kind of off to the side, like in the actual constellation. I made sure everything was secure, so I wouldn’t lose any “stars.”
Finally, I attached the clasp to the ends of the chain using, you guessed it, more jump rings. And that was it!
The Final Result
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! It’s delicate and personal, and I like that I made it myself. It’s not super fancy, but it’s definitely me.
I wore it with a simple black top, and I think that the simple style necklace will suit to every clothes style.
Plus, now I can tell people I’m a Scorpio without actually having to say it. Win-win!
