So, I finally got around to swapping out the stock exhaust on my MT-09 for a full Leo Vince system. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey, but totally worth it in the end. I’d been eyeing this upgrade for a while, and after saving up enough pennies, I decided to pull the trigger.
First things first, I gathered all my tools and the new exhaust system. Having everything laid out and ready to go made the process a lot smoother. I cleared out a good chunk of space in my garage, making sure I had enough room to maneuver around the bike comfortably.
I started by removing the stock exhaust. This involved unbolting the muffler and then carefully detaching the header pipes from the engine. It wasn’t too tricky, but I made sure to take my time and not force anything. It can be a pain when you do it too fast. I did not want to damage any parts or strip any bolts.
Next, I prepared the new Leo Vince system. I laid out all the components, making sure I understood how everything fit together. There were quite a few parts, including the header pipes, mid-pipe, and the muffler itself. There are also a lot of small parts that need to be in the right place. Following the instructions was key here, although they could have been a bit clearer, to be honest.
Installing the New System
Installing the new header pipes was the most time-consuming part. I had to carefully align them with the engine ports and tighten the bolts gradually, making sure not to overtighten any one bolt before the others were snug. It was a bit of a balancing act, but I managed to get them all in place without too much hassle. The most difficult part was the middle one. I spent a lot of time on that one.

Finally, the moment of truth. I fired up the engine, and wow, what a difference! The Leo Vince system sounded amazing – deep, throaty, and just the right amount of aggressive. I couldn’t wait to take it for a ride. The sound makes me feel so good. Riding my bike with this exhaust makes me feel more powerful.
