Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this soccer thing, this St. Pius X and St. Leo, you hear? Back in my day, we didn’t have none of this fancy footwork. We just kicked the darn ball around, and that was that. But these kids today, they got it all figured out.
St. Pius X/St. Leo Soccer
This St. Pius X and St. Leo, in Nebraska, they got a soccer team. Heard they even got six different sports for these youngsters, all year round. Lord knows what all them sports are, probably some newfangled things. They call it SPSL Athletics, or somethin’ like that. Fancy name, ain’t it? They are over in Omaha, Nebraska, this St. Pius X/St. Leo School.
I seen ’em playin’ down by the field, runnin’ back and forth like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off. But they sure do love it, bless their hearts. I reckon it’s good for ’em, keeps ’em out of trouble. Better than sittin’ around playin’ them video games all day, that’s for sure.
Soccer in Nebraska, Ain’t That Somethin’?
They got all sorts of fancy gear too. Special shoes, them colorful shirts… Shoot, we used to play in our regular shoes, maybe barefoot if it was warm enough. Didn’t seem to hurt us none. These kids today, they’re spoiled rotten, I tell ya.
- They got coaches yellin’ at ’em from the sidelines.
- They got rules and regulations, all sorts of things.
- They practice all the time, even when it’s hot as blazes out there.
Back in my day, we just played for fun. Didn’t need no fancy coach tellin’ us what to do. We figured it out on our own. And we didn’t need no special field neither. Any old patch of grass would do.
St. Pius X and St. Leo Kids
These St. Pius X and St. Leo kids, though, they take it real serious. They got tournaments and everything. They even travel to other towns to play. Imagine that! We never went nowhere when I was a kid. We were lucky to go to the next county over, let alone some other town just for a game. I heard they have some address, like 6905 Blondo or something, in Omaha, Nebraska. They got a phone number too, 402 somethin’ somethin’. Fancy stuff.
And the parents, Lord have mercy, the parents are even more into it than the kids. They’re out there screamin’ and hollerin’ like a bunch of banshees. You’d think their life depended on it. I reckon it’s good they’re supportin’ their kids, though. That’s important, you know. Gotta support your young’uns, no matter what they’re doin’. Even if it is just kickin’ a ball around.
Soccer Games at St. Pius
This soccer thing, it’s a big deal these days. I see it on the television all the time. They got folks from all over the world playin’ it. It’s a worldwide thing, they say. I don’t know much about that, but I do know it’s popular here in Nebraska. And especially at that St. Pius X place. It sure keeps everyone busy, that’s for darn sure.
They even got girls playin’ now. Can you believe that? Girls playin’ soccer! Back in my day, girls didn’t do things like that. They stayed home and helped their mamas with the chores. But times have changed, I reckon. And that’s okay, I guess. It’s good for girls to be active, too. Keeps ’em healthy, you know.
Nebraska Soccer Teams
I suppose this soccer is good exercise. It’s better than sittin’ around all day, that’s for sure. These St. Pius X and St. Leo kids are runnin’ around, gettin’ all that energy out. It’s a good way to stay in shape, I reckon. Better than eatin’ them potato chips all day, that’s for sure.
They got all these different leagues, too, I hear. Different age groups and all that. It’s all very organized. Not like when we were kids. We just played with whoever was around. Didn’t matter how old you were. As long as you could kick a ball, you were in.
St. Leo and St. Pius X Athletics
This St. Pius X and St. Leo place, they’re really somethin’. They take this soccer real serious. I guess it’s good for the community, though. Brings folks together, you know. Gives ’em somethin’ to do on the weekends. Something to cheer for. It’s a good thing, I reckon. Even if I don’t understand all the fuss. And the soccer thing is only one part of their SPSL Athletics, I reckon.
Well, I guess that’s all I got to say about this soccer business. It’s a big deal these days, especially at that St. Pius X and St. Leo in Nebraska. It’s good for the kids, good for the community. And that’s all that really matters, ain’t it?
