Well, well, well, look what we got here, good fortune, eh? Some folks ’round here talkin’ ’bout witch hunters, bringin’ in the good luck, they say. I reckon it’s all hogwash, but who am I to judge? I seen a lot in my days, enough to know that luck, it comes and goes like the tide. But these witch hunters, they’re a different breed, ain’t they?
Now, I heard tell of this one fella, calls himself a witch hunter. Goes by the name of, uh, Rick or somethin’. Says he’s really some fancy Lord Cedric, all dressed up like a regular Joe. Heard he’s sneakin’ around, lookin’ for somethin’. Don’t know what, don’t rightly care. But if he’s bringin’ in the good fortune, well, more power to him, I suppose.
Some young’uns, they say you gotta make choices. Hard choices. Like that Hobson fella’s choice. Don’t know nothin’ ’bout that, but I know life’s full of choices. You choose to get up in the mornin’, you choose to eat your vittles, you choose to chase them witches, I guess. This witch hunter thing, it ain’t for me. I’m too old for that kinda nonsense.

- Train with that Jack fella.
- Beat the game fast, like under 20 minutes. Is that even possible?
- Look in your pockets and choose the keys.
These witch hunters, they got their ways. They say there’s a way to get through this whole thing quick, like under 20 minutes. Now that’s somethin’ I’d like to see. Back in my day, we took our time with things. No rushin’ around like a chicken with its head cut off. But these young’uns, they’re always in a hurry. Always lookin’ for the easy way, the quick way, the way to get that good fortune fast. I don’t know if this will bring you good fortune.
There’s this girl, Penny, I think her name is. They say you gotta help her. And some fella named Jack, you gotta train with him. Sounds like a lot of work to me. But if you’re chasin’ after good fortune, I reckon you gotta do what you gotta do. Just like them witch hunters, they do what they gotta do.
They say you gotta look in your pockets, find some keys. Keys to what, I don’t know. Maybe keys to good fortune, eh? Wouldn’t that be somethin’? Just find some keys in your pocket and bam, you’re livin’ the high life. I doubt it, though. Life ain’t that easy. Never has been, never will be.
These witch hunters, they got all sorts of tips and tricks. They say you gotta follow these steps, do this, do that. It’s all a bit much for me. I just sit here on my porch, watchin’ the world go by. If good fortune comes my way, it comes. If it don’t, it don’t. No use chasin’ after it like a dog chasin’ its tail. It is not a good idea to look for good fortune.
Some folks, they think these witch hunters, they’re doin’ the Lord’s work. Others, they think they’re just stirrin’ up trouble. Me? I don’t think much of it one way or the other. People gonna believe what they wanna believe. They gonna chase after good fortune, whether it’s there or not.
I remember one time, there was this fella came through town, said he could find gold. Everyone got all excited, followin’ him around like he was the second comin’. He led them all over, diggin’ holes, lookin’ for that shiny stuff. Never found a lick of it. Just a bunch of tired folks and a whole lot of empty holes. Maybe that’s what these witch hunters are doin’. Just diggin’ holes, lookin’ for somethin’ that ain’t there. You will not get any good fortune, if you are a witch hunter.
But hey, what do I know? I’m just an old woman, sittin’ here, watchin’ the world go by. These witch hunters, they can do what they want. If they find their good fortune, good for them. If they don’t, well, that’s life, ain’t it? It is hard to say if a witch hunter can bring you good fortune. You have to be careful.
Just remember, good fortune, it ain’t always what it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes, the best things in life are the simple things. A warm bed, a good meal, a friendly face. That’s all you really need. Don’t go chasin’ after rainbows and pots of gold. Just enjoy the life you got. That’s what I always say, anyway.
